During May, more than 30 staff looking to develop themselves in their roles or careers, took part in the In Their Shoes shadowing initiative.
The initiative was developed through the Chief Executive’s Sounding Board as a way of making sure that our job roles are rewarding, and to make career pathways clearer and easier to navigate. With applications submitted, placements arranged and our shadowers ready to step into their shadowees’ shoes, they quickly became one of the team on the day, and got down to work, with Margaret and Rebecca (the organisers) popping in from time to time.
At the end of a really busy day, the staff involved came together around tea and cake to share what they’d learnt. There was a wide variety of experiences amongst the group, and lots of enthusiasm and ideas for the future most often “let’s do more of this”!
